Odometer readings - and obsessing over magical numerical milestones - capture the essence of the American road trip. In this case, I was able to pull into my driveway at exactly 111,111.1 miles! I was on my way home from work, with 11 miles to go, when I noticed 111,101 - so with a few extra streets along the way I was able to nail it, right as I pulled in the driveway.
